The Ecstatic Manifestations of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
There has never been an incarnation of the Lord equal to
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is the
fountainhead of all incranations. His golden-hued body is
tall and well formed.
His long black curly hair falls around His picturesque
face, and His eyes, shaped like lotus petals, extend almost
to His ears. Dressed in yellow silk dhoti, tilaka on His
forehead, and a brahmana thread around His torso, He
wanders around Navadvipa intoxicated with divine love of
Godhead, His sweet loveliness defying all descriptions of
beauty.
Overwhelmed by His irrespressible beauty and charm, the fortunate
of Navadvipa marveled at the sight of Nimai Pandita and wondered
what divine transformation had come over Him since He returned
from Gaya. Before He was a proud scholar who openly challenged
other scholars to try and defat Him in debate, but now, after
receiving initiation from Isvara Puri in Gaya, He was behaving
like a humble devotee of Lord Krsna.
The Lord's Disguise
The Vaishnavas were jubilant to see this change in Nimai. Gone
was the Pandia's previous arrogance and haughtiness. He no
longer teased them, or challenged them to debates on logic.
He was now completely detached from the world, always absorbed in ecstatic feelings within Himself. He
was grave and deep like an ocean, and the only word that emanated from His mouth was "Krsna". Whenever
He saw a Vaishnava, He would humbly approach him with a straw in His teetch and in all sincerity say,
"You are a Vaisnava so you know Krsna. Please tell Me 'Where I can find Him?' Embracing the devotees,
He would implore them. "Where can I find My beloved Krsna? Please tell Me quickly!"
